Incorrect Refresh Rate For Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2045u

NO, I have an Athlon XP 2400. (yeah, I know it sucks :( )

Here's everything for the Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2045u (NSH1157):

Horizontal sync: 30.0-121.0 kHz
Vertical sync: 50.0-160.0 Hz

It's also easily capable of high resolutions, though I usually don't go higher
than 1600x1200.

Please attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /etc/X11/xorg.conf from up-do-date Breezy.

OK, now I'm running Colony 5 and this problem persists. I have the resolution I want and everything is fine except that I am stuck at 60 Hz
which is basically unusable for real work (extended time) because it makes my eyes hurt.

I can't figure out why I cannot change the resolution; 60 Hz is the only option. I would be happy to provide more information though so
perhaps it can work like in SUSE 10, Linspire and Windows.

My xorg.conf file

The Xorg file shows that my monitor is not detected properly as a Mitsubishi
Diamond Pro 2045u and is instead labeled "Generic Monitor".

I actually looked at the xorg.conf file myself a little more and fixed my
problem. All I did was replace the horizontal sync with 30.0-121.0 and the
vertical sync with 50.0-160.0 and upon restart Ubuntu automatically selected 85
Hz as default. All is well now, on my desktop.

Though I wouldn't expect most people new to Linux to know their
horizontal/vertical sync ranges and then modify their xorg.conf file in the
right place to fix the system.

the problem is that the monitor itself is reporting the wrong ranges
