Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-games

Please upgrade the Gutsy version of Gnome Games. There have been a number of severe bugs that were fixed in 2.20.2 and 2.20.3 which are causing a flood of bug duplicates in the Gnome Bugzilla (there are a _lot_ of Ubuntu users out there...). Two bugs are particularly frequent (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412690 and http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418427) as they occur when Ubuntu systems are being upgraded (when people often probably play games).

Marco, that is the unstable version, the latest stable version is 2.20.3. (gedit has been updated to 2.20.3). I'm raising this because we're spending a lot of time marking duplicate bugs in Gnome... :(

In ubuntu Hardy (development) the latest is 2.21.4, this isn't Debian. In Debian it's 2.16.3-1 at stable. You should request the bug to update it there, not here.

Isn't Gutsy based off Sid? Sid is currently using gnome-game 2.20.2:

What is the Gutsy policy with upsteam bugfixes?

The Ubuntu has packages from Debian, but isn't at all a copy of it.

new versions are usually not uploaded to stable, exception can be made for limited set of changes concerning bug fixes only though, otherwise specific patches can be backported
