Bug Description

Please update to the latest release of ddclient. See https://github.com/ddclient/ddclient/releases. Note that the release currently shipped in Ubuntu uses a deprecated Cloudflare API and therefore no longer supports Cloudflare, whereas the current ddclient release does.

I was wrong, it's still not fixed. debconf allows you to configure the "namecheap" value for the setting, but then when the package is configured and /etc/ddclient.conf is created, it still says "dyndns2" for the protocol, i.e., the setting isn't being propagated properly into /etc/ddclient.conf.

A new version will be uploaded to Debian soon. After it is accepted in Debian it will automatically propagate to the next Ubuntu release.

In the meantime, you can get the latest stable release from this official PPA: https://launchpad.net/~ddclient/+archive/ubuntu/ppa
