Bug Description

Mass, Tremor and Drag would be very useful on the
freehand tool.

Just like the caligraphic tool.

For font designers, it would be helpfull, if caligraphic lines would
keep their mid-line as spline. This way you could easily create
letters with different types of pens (pencil, brush etc.) based on
the same freehand spline.

Maybe this is worth another wishlist bug.
To make it more clear, what is basically needed is the option to
draw letters just once, and then turn them into a caligraphic,
or just a thicker/thinner outline.

Corel does it the other way round. It keeps the mid-line of your spline
(what ever caligraphic/freehand tool you use) - until you turn it into
its outline. Afterwards, of course, its mid-line (path?) is lost.

@RalfG, you want something like LivePen, right? :)

@Alexandre, I didn't know of LivePen (as descibed at http://www.fontblog.de/kalligrafie-feder-live-pen-fuer-adobe-illustrator), but I like it. However, my suggestion was less sophisticated/complex:

Just change the pen style for (the) selected curve(s) in total. So you can switch letters from pencil written to pen caligraphy.

Can't I attach an image for clarification?

Look at this, please:

I wonder if it is possible to expand a simple (midline) path using the caligraphy pen (or others)?
