Bug Description

Most dialogs don't have accelarator keys. That
makes mouse navigation necessary to work fast.

A list of dialogs strings and exactly what accelerators you
think shoudl be used would be a big help in getting this
task taken care of sooner.

Watch out for conflicting Accelarators.

I feel that the request is pretty clear even without a list of strings and accelerators.

Confirmed on Ubuntu 10.04.

Sorry guys, this one escaped my attention.
Unfortunately I could not get it working properly. The accelerator keys in Document properties > Tab Page for the unit selectors "Default _units" and "U_nits", that are already available for a long time, also do not work, so probably there is a problem in the unit selector widget.

For now, dropped the accelator key added in r9858.

With regard to changes in r9989 for 'Object > Rows and Columns…':
Using Inkscape 0.48+devel r9994 on OS X 10.5.8, some shortcuts fail in docked state and are caught by the main window opening one of the menus (yes, mouse focus is in the docked dialog):
- Alt+h
- Alt+f
- Alt+s

Do others see the same or is this an issue with the window manager/X11 used on OS X?

Note: all shortcuts work fine as long as the dialogs are detached (floating) and only fail if used in (default) docked state.

Also present on vista64.
I have the impression that the same is true for all shortcuts in all dialogs docked to the side of the screen. This behaviour has been in Inkscape for quite a while and AFAIK unrelated to the latest changes.
See for example the Document properties window in Inkscape 0.48 official release (r9654).

Dialogs in trunk should now have accelerator keys where appropriate.
Filters and extensions are an exception though. However, this is about hundreds, if not one thousand user messages and probably it does not pay off to add accelerator keys to all of them.
If no other reactions, considering this bug as closed ...
