Bug Description

There is a bug report in Debian already: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=851810
Not sure whether it helps to report it here, so just to be sure.

Using Ubuntu 17.04 Beta with latest updates, no matter what is done with xcalib, there is the same error:
"Error - unsupported ramp size 0"

E.g. "xcalib -a -b .5" or "xcalib profile.icc".

I use xcalib to adjust both gamma and brightness (i.e. the level of black, not brightness as in screen brightness). I haven't found any other way to do this with a laptop, so if you know any, please tell me.

More information: as the bug report in Debian says, changing the driver to "intel" seems to fix the problem.

Can confirm that this problem exists. Ubuntu 17.04 (stable)

I tried everything, changing the driver to "intel", changing it to the open-source variant, none of the methods work.
