Do not understand email? Please explain. Is this another driver. Where
can I find it?

Hi Rob,

This bug was reported under apport, which is crash detection/reporting tool. I have reassigned it from apport to hplip (HP Linux Imaging and Printing) so that somebody can hopefully assist with your problem. Apologies for the confusion.

Thanks for taking this on. I would be willing to run any test and send
results to you and test any fixes that your find with my HP Design jet
130 if you don't have one available.. A few years ago I helped
develope (by testing and sending results) the driver for the Cannon
Cannoscan 9000F.

Hello Rod,

"HP Designjet 130 printer" is not supported in HP Linux driver (HPLIP). List of Designjet printers Supported/Not_Supported can be found at http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/supported_devices/designjet.html . Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Thanks,
Sanjay

Ok Seems like we got off track. Where should I go to get help?

When I connect my HP DesignJet 130 to Ubuntu 14.10 it installs a driver
that says it is for my printer.

attached is a picture of the printer properties that shows the details.

Also attached is the HP-DesignJet_130_cdnj500.ppd which appears to be
the driver scrip.

The driver prints part of a page then freezes. However it printed one
test page complete When I set it to 11x17".

Please direct me to the proper place to get help. If you need more
information let me know.

Ok We can inform Ubuntu about this. I found the solution. I just don't
know who to send it to.
Ubuntu 14.10 uses the :

HP-DesignJet_130-cdnj500.ppd

as the driver for the HP DesignJet 130 printer.
This driver does not work properly.
However by changing the driver to :

HP-DesignJet_130-chp220.ppd

Which is also an option, it is working great as far as I have tested it.

Thanks for Jugging me to pursue it further. I can now retire my old XP O/S.

We have a HP-DesignJet 130 connected to Ubuntu 14.04 (upgraded from 12.04 in order to get plotter to work). The HP-DesignJet_130-cdnj500.ppd seems to be very close to a working solution. It seems as if all that is needed is for the buffer to be flushed and the paper ejected (manual load). All prints (from Ubuntu test page to BricsCAD printing to printing a PDF) prints almost the complete page and then stalls right at the end. My gut tells me that the printer needs a command at the end of a printout to flush whatever is in the buffer.
