Bug Description

checkbox-ng version: 0.4~dev+bzr3052+pkg7~ubuntu14.04.1

On the same system, "power-management/rtc" will failed in a unknown combination of tests.
However running this job individually by using "checkbox script" never fails.

Steps to reproduce:

1. checkbox-cli --new-ui
2. select power-management/rtc and

Expected:

the job should pass as it ran alone.

Actual result:

Failed with following messages:

----------------------------[ power-management/rtc ]----------------------------
ID: 2013.com.canonical.certification::power-management/rtc
... 8< -------------------------------------------------------------------------
hwclock: select() to /dev/rtc to wait for clock tick timed out: Success
------------------------------------------------------------------------- >8 ---
Outcome: job failed

I don't think this is a problem with checkbox. We're simply running hwclock -r. If anything that's a bug on util-linux package.

affects: checkbox-ng → plainbox-provider-checkbox

Without additional information on how to reproduce this I'm setting this to incomplete.

Changed in plainbox-provider-checkbox:
status: New → Invalid
Changed in util-linux (Ubuntu):

With some more testing, I found this was somehow caused by using fwts to do hibernate test

If hibernate was triggered before this rtc test, the latter will fail.
We used to have the hibernate key test before this rtc test, which will trigger hibernate in the early stage (see bug 1330399), therefore causing this issue.

In conclusion, this should not happen again in checkbox-cli since the fix has been implemented.
But for fwts itself, there seems to have a bug, I will open a report for it.
