I have the sam problem in Ubuntu Feisty 32bit, but in my case I can't hit anything it just dies forcing me to do a HARD reboot, I'm gonna mess the HD when I have to do this every few hours since my sistem HAS to run 24/7
This happens only on login manager after the screen goes to sleep, then nothing wakes up, I can hear fans and all, just doesn't respond, I believe I started having this problem with last linux headers update
