Bug Description
I am interested in Rosetta mainly as an upstream developer.
Currently it's a bit painful to track the ongoing translation effort. I basically have to check back regularly and compare time stamps on the 'last update' in Rosetta, and on the .po files in my source tree, which only works if I didn't have to manually edit the .po files (see my two other bug reports).
It would be nice if there were additional tracking functions for developers. I'm not sure if it's worth implementing anything complicated here, but what should be easy to do - and what would be extremely useful - is to add a 'monitoring' function to a package, so that registered upstream developers receive an e-mail whenever a translation has been updated (which can be filtered away somewhere to check later).
Just an idea - not sure how well it fits into the bigger Rosetta theme.
Cheers

Yeah, that's possible but I think that the email solution is not a good one unless you want to get lot of spam :-)
What about a page where you, as the upstream author get the list of .po files that changed?
Also, the other way to compare two .po files is looking into the header, it has an entry that Rosetta should update with every export that tells you when was the last time that .po file was updated.
Please, add anything you think is useful to you as an upstream maintainer to http:// www.ubuntulinux .org/wiki/ RosettaWishList or as a bug report here and if we think is something that we can implement we will add it into our todo list and will implement it as soon as possible.
Cheers.
