Bug Description

libgphoto does not work with GSmart Mini 2 camera. It is working for less than 3
photos on the camera. The more photos on the camera the more unlikely it works.
Hardware used here: Dell Precision 530, Dual Xeon 2.2GHz, 1GB RAM.

$ uname -a
Linux dellone 2.6.8.1-4-686-smp #1 SMP Wed Dec 22 14:25:06 UTC 2004 i686 GNU/Linux

$ dmesg (switching camera on):

usb 2-2: USB disconnect, address 6
usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using address 7

after pressing "Import" in the automatic import, dmesg does report:

usb 2-2: usbfs: interface 0 claimed while 'gthumb' sets config #1
usb 2-2: usbfs: process 5571 (gthumb) did not claim interface 1 before use

The same problem with gphoto2 frontend:

$ gphoto2 --auto-detect -L
Model Port
----------------------------------------------------------
Mustek gSmart mini 2 usb:
*** Error (-34: 'Error reading from the port') ***

Will attach a complete output from gphoto2 --debug

This is the output from gphoto2 --auto-detect --list-files --debug

This seems to be a timing issue. If the camera holds 2-8 pictures autodetect
works. With more than 8 it works after several tries. The more pictures the
less autodetectable.

I would be interessted if the new version of gphoto in ubuntu/hoary makes a
difference. Could you test it with the live-cd of hoary if possible?

Thanks,
 Michael
