AppCenter is empty

Have you installed app-install-data and packagekit?

app-install-data is installed, but packagekit isn't. However, shouldn't the
DEB have them both as dependencies? I installed AppCenter from elementary
OS Daily PPA.

Installing packagekit does solve the problem.

Do I need to file a new bug about the missing dependency?

Me too, like Mohammed has said above, I have packagekit and app-install-data installed but the categories are empty.

Execute this command in terminal: appcenter -r
After it is finished it will be fixed.

Can you link the log you get by running "appcenter -r -v"?
