Bug Description

PDF.js is a free extension coded by Mozilla, that converts PDF into HTML and displays it in a HTML5 reader.
Is it possible to add it as extension or activated by default?

I agree it's really annoying sometimes downloading PDF's which contain the wrong content.
A preview in the browser would solve the problem.

Don't make any misassumptions here: the documents would have to be downloaded just the same, even if you "preview" and discard it. The only difference is that it's inside the tab, not a separate window - and that it won't be guaranteed to render as expected. I'd expect using native PDF display with poppler to yield better results.

Ok i understand but i think it would be better to display the preview in a new tab.
The PDF should be downloaded transparently and be saved in the tmp directory for example.
If the results are better yes why not using libpoppler.

I like the idea.

I can not view pdf into midori since long time ago. The "missing plugin" message is the only thing I can see. :(

Updating the bug title here. It looks like there is going to be a NPAPI plugin for embedded Evince.

Christian suggested we use an infobar to suggest the installation of this plugin if it's not already available.
