Bug Description
Inkscape 0.48.3.1 r9886 on Windows 7 x64
(side question: why does the graphic in the About page take so long to load? Is it pulled from the internet?)
To reproduce:
Go to Preferences-
Change Flash time to 0.
Use Inkscape as usual; every so often (roughly ~20 minutes for me), a selection cue (red trace line) will become persistent and won't go away until Inkscape is reloaded.
That's as much as I can figure out. I'm using keyboard and mouse.

Whoops; it's not a selection cue, it's a path outline. Please correct the title.
