Bug Description

I used the workaround described in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1021104 :

CCSM > Workarounds > Force full screen redraws (buffer swap) on repaint = ON

Screen corruption is now gone, but the screen flickers at every refresh, and while flickering the same screen corruption as before can be seen.

Actually, since the screen recorder has a lower framerate, not all flickering is visible. It occurred at every character typed.

In bug 1021104 it was suggested the problem goes away after you log out/in again. Is that true here too?

Changed in compiz:
milestone: none → 0.9.8.1
importance: Undecided → High
tags: added: llvmpipe
summary: - In virtualbox, the screen flickers at each redraw
+ [LLVMpipe] In virtualbox, the screen flickers at each redraw

Also, if this isn't fixed by the proper fix for bug 1021104, it might yet be fixed by the new buffer-swapping renderer to be released in compiz 0.9.8.0. So I think either way, this is probably fixed already.

You are right, the flickering disappears if I restart the session.
