Bug Description

The vala source package contains the obsolete version 0.12 of the vala compiler. In addition to this, we have vala-0.14, vala-0.16, and vala-0.18 in the Ubuntu archives and badly need to keep the available versions under control.

This package has already been removed from Debian http://bugs.debian.org/665418

Ok, it looks like Debian had to drop avant-window-navigator since upstream has yet to update it to support newer vala versions (bug 660243).

Added vala-0.10 as it's also an obsolete vala version. Added avant-window-navigator and it rdep awn-extras as they're the only things left depending on vala-0.10

I had a bit of a look at porting awn to a newer vala based on gilir's branch in bug #660243. It would require a fair bit of investment to do it properly. I'm not sure it's something we want to do as a distro, given that upstream development seems to have ceased. It's unfortunate as this is a fairly popular piece of software, but it really needs an active upstream if it is to be viable IMHO.
