Problem with tweak tool

Asked by Jeffrey Needle on 2016-06-30

Hi. Have Budgie-Remix installed, fully updated.

I've installed the Gnome tweak took. Oddly, there is no entry for "Extensions" as in other tweak tools. How can I activate that? I want to add the weather app to the top bar.

Thanks.

GNOME tweak tool is for GNOME-Shell. Whilst budgie-desktop does have many shared underlying components of GNOME-Shell - the panel is not one of them. That is why GNOME-Shell extensions do not show in GNOME-Tweak tool - you cannot add GNOME-Shell extensions to budgie-desktop, only applications that show in the notification area and budgie-desktop specific applets.

Which weather applet are you trying to add?

I'm using the gis-weather applet with the notification icon made visible in the panel

Many thanks. I can't figure out how to change the measurements to
farenheit. Can't find the settings.

In any event, I was looking for a top panel indicator that would act
somewhat like Mate and XFCE, giving me weather info right in the panel.

Many thanks!

Just read your reply again -- how do you make the notification icon
visible in the panel? Thanks again.

preferences - indicator tab - show "indicator"

for farenheight - preferences - unit tab

if you are just seeing the weather on the desktop - right click the weather on the desktop and choose preferences.

I personally use acuweather for the weather source - the icons on the desktop and indicator are more accurate.

Thanks. I'll give it all a try.
