Old version of BleachBit in Ubuntu repository
Hi Andrew,
why in the Ubuntu repository is only the old version of BleachBit (0.3.1)?
Could you create your own LaunchPad repository, in which would be both stable and unstable version?
Thanks for your reply
Best regards, Roman

Question 1:
I asked the packager (Luca F) and, if I remember correctly, he referred to a policy in which packages cannot be updated for after a certain date. In other words, Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 is frozen, but there are new BleachBit releases in Ubuntu Karmic 9.10 (which will will be frozen too).
Question 2:
No, not at this time.

Damn! Hell! Ubuntu does unpleasantly surprised me again!
For this reason I have lots of LaunchPad PPAs in my sources.list

You may want to read the discussion on Slashdot today. There are good reasons to keep some packages back. Otherwise, you can upgrade to Ubuntu Karmic now and see what breaks. :)

I know that is not good to update some programs, recently I was indignation of bad quality of Amarok and indeed the whole KDE4, but on the other hand, I like to participate in the development of applications and when I find any bug, I immediately report it to the appropriate developers.
In recent years, the quality of Ubuntu is lousy, poor selection of applications, some applications are unstable, many people swear to that fact, but most of them are not to correct errors, though just to report bugs.
