Two shortcuts installed by BleachBit on Ubuntu 20.04

Asked by Surya Dilip

I installed BleachBit application on Ubuntu 20.04. BleachBit installed two shortcuts in the "Show Applications" space. Both the shortcuts open same app.

My questions are:

1. How to delete one shortcut?

2. The second shortcut of "BleachBit" is not showing its complete name even after hovering my mouse on it. How to find its complete name?

What happens if you activate each of them?

I assume the left one "Bleachbit" starts it with end user rights,
and the rights one probably is "Bleachbit (as root)" starting with a request for your password to authorize an administrative action, and then starts Bleachbit with admin rights (for deleting unnecessary files in the admin area)

The two shortcuts are intentional. One shortcut is for launching BleachBit as a normal user, but the normal user cannot clean system files under `/usr` and `/var`, so the second shortcut launches BleachBit as root to clean those other files. Assuming you want to clean everything, you need both.

If you still want to delete a shortcut, look for its `.desktop` file under `/usr/share/applications`.

By the way, you also posted this question today [on another site][1], and this can create extra work by having multiple people answer a single question.
