basket

Not able to find / open old files

I've re-installed BasKet. I am now not able to open / restore old files.
I can see them and open them in Text editors or Firefox and the content is correct, however, BasKet will neither import them nor "restore backup".
I am no using KDE but am using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Any thoughts ?
