Configure backintime from command line?

Asked by hqqh

Hi,

I want to use backintime to backup data at my server. I found a lot of how-to's to configure backintime using the GUI. But there is no X-window installed at the server. So how can I configure this backup-tool (time-schedule; folder to backup; folder, which store the backup data)?

Kind regards
hqqh

For a server, it's probably better to use rsnapshot. The end result is much the same.

There is tool to configure it without the GUI but: the config file is stored in ~/.config/backintime/config
If is a simple text file so you can modify it with a text editor.
To setup cron you have to do it manualy (use crontab).

Can you help with this problem?
