Progress bar?

Asked by steve

I just discovered backintime and it works really nice, thanks to the developers! One thing I would like to ask: Would it be possible to add some progress bar or estimate the remaining time needed to perform the backup and display this to the user?

Hard to implement, as it is hard to predict on forehand what needs to be done, however if you can file this as a [enhancement] bug we will put it on the wishlist and think about it

Some indication of progress, *any* indication would be nice.

BIT has been working for ~4 hours now and I have absolutely no idea if it will take it 1 more hour to finish or 2 days.

Every file manager displays an approximation of the time needed to finish when one copies something to a folder. The underlying process can't be that different here.

Gabriel,
please upgrade BIT to >= 1.1.0 and rsync >= 3.1 and you will have a progress bar.
