Adding an option --copy-links

Asked by nanolight

Hello, I'm using BiT for a short time and I prefer it to Grsync that I used before.
However Grsync had the ability to add extra personal options and I used --copy-links.
Indeed, my "Documents" folder in my home is a symbolic link to a fat32 partition readable from Windows (dual boot)
I wonder how I can save my documents (which are quite important data) with Back In Time?
Can I do it right now or do I need to open a bug in order to implement this option or the ability to enter a personal option?
Thanks
Adrian

Hey Adrian,

BackinTime syncs the files and so it also copies symlinks, but it does not
follow these. If you want the target to be copied too you should include the
target folder separately. Fat32 as the source partition should not deliver
any problems. You could always check the destination folders if they contain
your files.

You do not have to file a wishlist bug, the ability to pass manual settings
to the rsync command is filed before and is already on the wishlists. Could
take a while before it gets implemented though.

Cheers,
Bart
