Unexpected deletion of old snapshots

Asked by Martin Fisher

With BiT on Kubuntu 9.04 I have smart remove on and otherwise the defaults for auto-remove (e.g. if free space < 1 GB). On my backup drive I have c. 40 GB free. However, BiT is automatically removing snapshots from last week. Is this intended behaviour? With thanks!

It removes all snapshots of last week or all except the last one ?

ahhh perhaps now I understand! It deleted all except the last one! For some reason, possibly unwarranted, I had presumed that smart remove would only delete snapshots if space was limited. I presume therefore that deleting all except the last one is as expected?

All remove options are independent (except for "don't remove named snapshots").
In all cases the latest snapshots is not removed (event if is 10 years old).
