Intended single click behaviour in Kubuntu?

Asked by Martin Fisher

I am using Back In Time on Kubuntu 8.10 with KDE 4.1. In KDE I use the default single click behaviour of the mouse (i.e. a single click will open a folder or open a file). To select a file in the file manageer Dolphin (rather than opening it) I have to do Ctrl-click. If I am browsing files in a Back In Time snapshot (for example, looking at which snapshots a certain file occurs in) click will open the file but ctrl-click does the same. This makes selecting a file difficult - it can be done but every time one does so, the file also opens. I was just wondering whether this is the intended behaviour?
