what happens with hardlinks when old backups are auto removed ?
Asked by
Emmanuel Dufour
Back in time uses hardlinks to save space and create a sort of incremental backups, files that have not changed are just links to files in the previous backup. But what happens when old backups are auto removed because they are too old for example ? Are the links in the newer backup replaced with the real file ?
