How to do a simple directory sync with BIT?

Asked by Alex Balmus

Hello,

I'm trying to use backintime to backup some data from an Ubuntu system:
* home folder ~10GB
* music library ~120GB
* a few other small folders

I do not need any versioning for these backups.
I just need a directory sync.

Is BIT the right tool fo this task?
 * If yes, how must I configure it?
 * If not, which tool would be better?

Thanks for your time.
Alex

No, BIT is a backup tool. I'd suggest to use Unison (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unison_%28file_synchronizer%29) for this.

Meanwhile I have been doing some digging and found the Unison tool and another one called Grsync.
I'll give Unison a try.

Thank you for your answer.
