backintime stopped making snapshots

Asked by faust faust

For no apparent reason backintime has seemingly stopped making snapshots which are set to happen every 24 hours. The last one was Feb 10th.

When i manually start a new snapshot, it seems to be working (i.e. message is Working: Compare with snapshot 2012-02-12 etc.), but this new snapshot does not appear on the left hand side of the main dialogue.

I looked at the last log, and under Informations, the rsync command seems to include the --dry run option. Is this meant to be part of the rsync command? How to change it?

Please advise.

Actually I noticed that backintime stopped comparing at a certain point, although the message at the bottom of the gui indicated that it was still working. However system monitor indicated that it was sleeping and rsync uninterruptible.

I decided to kill both proceeses and restart backintime. It is now seemingly working and no --dry run option.

Will update when/if it completes the task.

"--dry-run" option it is used when BIT tries to detect it there are any changes (to see if it needs to take a snapshot or not).

Can you help with this problem?
