BIT Wont launch

I have been using BIT for some months without a problem. Of late it fails to launch from the menu bar or using a terminal.

When I check System Monitor Processes there is no ID 2764

I have tried un installing and reinstall with Synaptec and terminal and I get the same result

Look in ~/.local/share/backintime/ (or ~/.config/backintime) for a file named something like "app.lock".
If you find it remove it. If it solves your problem please report it as a bug.
