How to disable 1.0 logfile?

I'm using BIT 1.0.2.
I've noticed that, when trying to make my second snapshot, it ate all my /home free space... with a logfile o_O
I found a 2.2GB "takesnapshot_.log" inside ~/.local/share/backintime/

How can I disable the log, or at least decrease its verbosity?

There is no option for now, please open a bug. This seems to be a good idea.

But I would like to ask what can I do now, since the bug have been fixed and commited.
Can I simply download that modified .py and overwrite it in my computer?
And how can I use that option?
