Backup to destination with existing files

Asked by Ivan

Hi,

I already have a backup directory on the target drive, and would like to know if it's possible to make BiT to use that directory, with the existing files, as a backup directory, without having to copy everything from scratch. For example, I already have a Docs folder on /media/external, and a Docs folder on my home. I would like to use the Docs on external as the backup directory for Docs on my home, without erasing what's in Docs on external.

Thank you

You have to simulate BIT structure.

If you have BIT 0.9.6 and the original folder is /home/<user>/Docs,
you have to create a fake snaphot /media/external/backintime/20100101-000000/backup/home/<user>/Docs
and configure BIT to use /media/external for snapshots.

Can you help with this problem?
