snapshot works...update doesn't

cracking program...fits the bill nicely. replaced sbackup for me.
one thing though...as the title says...update doesn't do anything...i have to create a new snapshot every time.
ubuntu 10.10 alpha 3...running as root.

What do you means ?
The first time BIT crreate a snapshot and then it creates new snapshots only if there are some changes.
Try to add/modify a file (in included folders) and you should have a new snapshot.

i mean it creates a whole new snapshot (which takes a while)...not just the changed files. maybe i'm missing something but it's not incremental. i thought it would 'update' the existing snapshot.

Yes, BIT can use hard-links if the file system support them. FAT32 don't support hard-links (http://backintime.le-web.org/documentation). I recommend you to use ext3/ext4 or other linux file system.

oh ok...formatted it to fat32 for compatibility reasons...suppose i could give 500gb of it to ext3...
