DualMonitors - all items appear twice

Asked by ThomasM

I am running Gnome on Fedora 11 with dual monitors and compiz. The launchpad is on my main monitor on the left side. That is as I want it.
All icons for tasks and launchers (i.e. OO Calc) appear twice. If I add an icon to launch Tomboy I end up with two Tomboy icons in the same launchpad.
If I remove one icon, two disappear.
What can I do?

Sounds like you have two Launcher/Taskmanager applets loading. Go into Awn Manager and check the applet list, if there are two then remove one. (Awn may crash, and need to be restarted, when you do this).

Right-click an edge of the dock, select "Dock Preferences", In the preferences dialog, select "Applets" in the left pane, and then in the bottom-right pane, make sure that there's only one applet named "Launcher/Taskmanager" (you can see the name by hovering over the icon - the icon for that applet is the same as the dock itself, in the Applications menu).
