Launchers are not showing in Launcher/Taskmanager.

Asked by sp00k

I have added launchers to awn and when launched they are not appearing in the Launcher/Taskmanager. I have tested and any app that is not added as a launcher is displayed. I'm confused by this as I do like to see what application windows I have open as well as having quick access to them via awn.If, my being able to see the open app window/s is negated by the fact I have them as launchers in awn, I don't then see the point in using the awn application. Can you please clarify, is this user error or an application issue.

Thanks in advance, Sp00k

Tasks which are launched from launchers are (usually) associated with its launcher, and so it takes the space of the launcher. (You can launch additional instances of the application, if the app permits it, by middle-clicking.) As I understand it ,this behavior was borrowed from the OSX dock.

So there is no way to have them show in the launcher/taskmanager when add as a launcher? I tested and can only launch one instance of an application, clicking the launcher only maximize/minimize the app.

Technically, it is shown, by "replacing" the launcher with the task. There is an experimental "simple-launcher" applet which only launches applications instead of also associating with tasks, but that is only available in the development builds.

Click with either your middle mouse button or the mouse wheel, whichever one your mouse has.
