Firefox icons

Asked by jlie

Hi,
I have only seen this with firefox. I am using icons downloaded from gnome-look.org. The firefox icon appears correctly under main menus.

I created a launcher for firefox and selected the appropriate icon, which correctly shows in the dock. Problem is when I open another window from firefox it uses the old icon so I end up with different icons in the doc. If I then open the window with the correct icon and close it, the other window (with the old icon) will "move down" and assume the correct new icon.

I have tried (before finding this page) to replace icons in /usr/share/pixmap and firefox locations, but no luck. Any thoughts?

When tasks are not associated with launchers (or there are multiple windows for a task), the task manager relies mainly on the application to supply the icon for it; since the application doesn't know about this custom icon, the task does not use it. This behavior may change in 0.6, when the task manager/launcher features are refactored.
