Blueprint user-positionable-bar: for 0.8?

Asked by Malte Skoruppa

I've been very eagerly waiting for the user positionable awn for quite a while now, and I've been coming back to the site every few days to see if there was some change about it or if there might even already be a beta version available, because it used to be targeted for 0.3, and the priority was set to "high".

Now I noticed something terrible: that blueprint was set to 0.8? And there's not even a 0.3 planned anymore. Do I interpret this right, that this feature won't be available for quite some time? But why? The priority was high, the delivery was started... or did I misunderstand something?

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Neil (our lead developer) had decided that putting all of the features that were in the original 0.3 roadmap was unfeasible to do, so he split up the goals of 0.3 into more manageable milestones. 0.3 never had a concrete date of delivery, anyway.

Thanks... but the new milestones don't have a concrete delivery date either, do they? Or do you have some timeline in mind? ;-)

Nope, no timeline. These are feature based releases, so they'll be released when they're ready.

Well, ok then. I'll keep getting back here to see how awn is progressing. Thanks :)

I'm in the same case as einheitlix, I can't use awn if I can't move it.
All things are on the topof a screen : menu bar, icons, applets, gnome menu ... so I'm use to have all on the top of screen and nothing at the bottom.

I'll come back !

Thanks for your job.
