AWN dock transparency and compiz settings

When I make the gnome panel transparent (using compiz-fusion settings), the AWN dock also becomes transparent. Is there a way to avoid this?

The default command to make the panel transparent is "dock", and this affects awn as well...

Nope, sorry. Awn sends a hint to the window managers that specifies that it's a dock, so that it can be kept in place and shown on all workspaces. I suppose you could try changing your Awn theme settings so that the extra transparency is mitigated.
