Stacks Applet not available

Asked by piet85

Hello,
I updated my System from Fedora 14 to Fedora 16 and since that, there is no stacks applet anymore. In my configuration it is displayed as crashed. In the applets menu it simply doesn't appear. All AWN packages are installed.
This Problem is the same in Mate and Gnome 3. I also had a fresh test installation of the latest Ubuntu and had the same problem there.
Has the stacks applet been removed from awn or is there any other reason?

At least I found a workaround: I copied the files from an older installation of awn. In the applets folder the stacks.desktop and the folder of the stacks applet are needed. Also there is a file belonging to stacks in schemas folder. When these are copied to exactly the same place it works fine.
I suggest stacks has been removed from awn-extras? Can someone confirm this and maybe tell me why?

Nice find..
If you are sure it is running stable, could you re-add the files to the awn-extras package?
Though I would encourage you to set the status to "Open"..

I am sure it is running stable but adding it to awn extras must be done by some developer of awn. For that purpose I set this thread to open again.

Can you help with this problem?
