moving avant to second monitor on dual screen setup

Asked by OJ on 2007-10-26

I was just wondering what the best way to move awn was? I have a dual screen setup (two 1050x1680 screens), and the primary screen is the left one. Awn starts up on the left screen, and I wanted it moved to the right one. To get this to work, I started up gconf-editor and navigated to:
/apps/avant-window-navigator/monitor_width
the value was set to 3360 (which is 1680*2). To get awn to move over to the right monitor, I added another 1680 to this number (ending up with 5040), then checked the force_monitor option. Awn is now on the right monitor. However, this seems like a bit of a kludge, and I was wondering if there was a better (or a "more correct" way to do this)...

well, this is essentially what I did (although the answer at https://answers.launchpad.net/awn/+question/12021 leaves a little to be desired). This seems a bit hackish since you have to modify key values by hand simply to move awn. If there is no better way, then I guess that this is the best answer...?
