New User Adding Applets in Ubuntu 10.10

Asked by Matt

Just installed Avant with AWN Settings in Ubuntu 10.10. I'm trying to add applets (and possibly themes). I go to the applet section, choose an applet and hit install. What I get is my home directory opened with AWN applet package down in the bottom right corner. I have no directory of this name or anything that looks similar.

Is the problem is I haven't downloaded the applets? I thought those listed came with the AWN settings. If the problem is I have not downloaded them how do I do so? I tried removing Avant and using instructions to install from the command line but got a number of not founds. I have not found any references to Ubuntu 10.10 but only older editions.

Is the problem that I need to create a directory or something else?

I just figured out two things. First I didn't need to hit the install button. This is I assume for installing applets not in the base list. 2nd in the software center there are more applet files if you search for 'avant extras' not just avant.

You don't have to click the install button, just drag the Applet you want down to the list of installed applets below.
