Thanks so much for this help. It solved my problem for partially coz I am getting this error.

checking for EOG... configure: error: Package requirements (
 glib-2.0 >= 2.12.0
 gtk+-2.0 >= 2.10.0
 eog >= 2.19.0
 libglade-2.0 >= 2.3.6
 gnome-vfs-2.0 >= 2.10.0
) were not met:

What are the possible dependencies I need to install? By the way, I'm using Ubuntu 8.04.

Thanks in advance.

This doesn't have anything to do with Awn. Try asking in the answer tracker for the package that you're trying to install (presumably, from source).
