Error Starting AWN on OpenSuse 11.3

Asked by cinns

Maybe someone can help me, as I have hit a brick wall and have no idea what this means;

I run avant-window-navigator in terminal and I get this....

(avant-window-navigator:9322): GConf-CRITICAL **: gconf_value_get_list: assertion `value != NULL' failed

** ERROR **: No panels to create!
** Please check that the gconf-schema is installed.
** You might also try to run `killall gconfd-2`.
aborting...

I am running x86_64 OpenSuse 11.3 on Gnome. Installed AWN 0.4.0-0.pm.4.1.x86_64.rpm and libawn1-0.4.0-0.pm.4.1.x86_64.prm with it. Anything else I need to list?

Why has this been assigned to me?, I package for Fedora, not Suse.

Well... never mind then. While I really would love to use AWN, it isn't a big deal.

Did you try running

killall gconfd-2

as suggested by the error output?

P.S I was questioning why I was assigned this as I'm not involved in the development of AWN (I only package it).

Leigh, I assumed you're familiar with the rpm in Suse, and even though you're not, you were still able to help, so thanks ;)

Can you help with this problem?
