Is there a digital clock that shows a calendar applet? I haven't been able to find one...

Technically, if you click on the Digital Clock applet, you'll get a simple calendar view. Though, it's not connected to any sort of calendaring service like Evolution or Google Calendar.

I don't have a digital clock applet that I can add to AWN...

The Digital Clock applet is part of the Awn Extras project. On Ubuntu, that particular applet is located in the awn-applets-c-extras package.
