Bandwidth Monitor Applet Orientation

Is it Possible to chance the orientation of the Bandwidth Monitor applet if the docks orientation is Left?

There is currently no way to do change the orientation of the bandwidth montior. The reason it is vertical in the horizontal dock is because the bandwidth monitor displays linear data that is usually too wide to fit in horizontally oriented vertical dock. If the data is wider than the dock is wide (when in a Left or Right orientation), the graph would get cut off.

If you have some ideas about how this could be implemented - I would be happy to look into them, I just don't have any good ideas about how to display the data in that orientation with such a confined space to operate in.
