Mail Applet: Why was the 'Hide if No New Mail' option removed?

Asked by Ben Kirkley

In the latest build of the Mail Applet (0.4.1), I've noticed that the "Hide Applet If No New Messages" option has been removed. I must say, I quite liked having the applet out of the way when it wasn't needed. Is there a technical reason the option has now been removed? Or is it just a design decision?

The reason is that because the mail applet works standalone, it is very difficult to unhide the applet icon.

Thanks for the reply. It's a shame to see this feature go, but it's understandable.
