Migrate from webalizer: .current still useful?

Asked by Reinier Schoof

I was wondering if there is a way to convert Webalizer's .current and .hist files to use them with AWFFull, since that's my only obstacle to switch to AWFFull. I no longer have the logfiles which results are stored in Webalizer state-files, so when i drop those, i'm losing a lot of statistics-data.

I already tried replacing awffull.current with webalizer.current, but that didn't work. AWFFull didn't complain either, though.

Hey Reinier,

both *should* work as is. the import of the .current does version checks and adjusts accordingly. But! if the recent update to webalizer a few months ago has changed the formats? all bets are off. :-(

Alternately, the .current is only valid for a given month, so process with webalizer till the end of month, then switch to awffull to process logs from the 1st of the month on.

the hist file is simple enough to manually generate if really desperate. :-)
But would suggest having a squiz at the contrib directory - the scripts in there can regen the history from all old html monthlies and hence get you > 12 months up front. Should be docco'd in the README. I think...

???
Cheers!
