Domain redirection

Asked by Notheros

Guys,

my problem isn't exactly with the Authpuppy itself, but with the Wifidog direction to it defined on wifidog.conf.

I want to create a LAN domain, but I don't know exactly how to do this. In other words, I want to put, for example, domain.com instead of my server IP on wifidog.conf, so when the client is redirected to the authpuppy's login page appears domain.com/login and not <SERVER_IP>/login on it.

I believe I don't need to create a redirection using the hosts file, right? Maybe configure the OpenWRT's DNS?

The AuthenticationServer part of the wifidog.conf file takes url as parameter.

If your router can resolve that url, then it should be ok with wifidog. So, make sure your DNS is ok. If the domain name is private (not publicly resolvable dns), then you'll need to tell openwrt the ip of that domain, otherwise, a public dns will work fine.

Yes, it will be a private domain. I don't have experience with this kind of configuration, but I will try to make it work.
I'll come back here to tell you if I got it or not.
Thanks!
