No Internet access after succesfull authentication

Asked by Ronald Luna

I had wifidog authentication portal working and decided to upgrade to authpuppy.
I've successfully Installed and configured authpuppy, migrate my users and connect my nodes to the new portal, however every time an user authenticate successfully into the protal the user does not gain internet access, it will continue to redirect the user to the authpuppy portal.

I have tried creating different types of network policies but nothing seems to work. I'll appreciate any ideas to try to get this problem solve.

Thanks

I had this problem too. That was in the way i configured the policies, and i was always getting back to the authentification page. But the best solution for me was to make the default policies describe below, those i use now.

Try this : http://www.authpuppy.org/doc/ApConnectionPoliciesPlugin#Max_duration

These policies work perfectly for me and if you see how they work by checking each last option box who show how the policies will work.

Hoping that it will help !

I would appreciate it. Whatever it is working or not, just leave me a comment on this page.

The way i behave, when i saw these standard policies, was to think that i will make my own policies. I was wrong.

It was better to make them my own policies, and changing them as long as i had a better knowledge of them.

I know that you are a long time owner and developer of a wifidog server, but meanwhile, these same policies may have change in ways of being ruled.

I forgot to mention that in apNodeCustomPlugin (it could help a lot having this plugin being part of your server by the way), i experienced some problems there also. So what i did was to configure this plugin in this way :

Allow Overwrite Authentication Per Node Unchecked
Default Global Authenticators Every authenticators checked
Allow Overwrite Policies per Node Unchecked
Default Global Policies Every Policies (that you created before) must be checked
Allow User Bypass per Node Unchecked

And it resolved other issues.

Please write a note here if it work for you too.

Thanks

André

There's a bug in the latest version of DD-WRT, the authenfication work but you are constantly redirect to login page, try change it to a less version of DD-WRT.
