two records streams

If I use the timer to start recording, two recods streams appear in pulseaudio-mixer. If I click on recording manually, it creates just one record-stream.
I guess that should not happen, does it?

Hello,
That is right.
When you activate the Timer (timer commands) then audio-recorder creates a GStreamer-pipeline to monitor the sound level.
It needs to monitor the level (in the background) when START, STOP or PAUSE (timer commands) are set in the Timer field.

The entire audio-recorder program needs to be re-designed and re-written with better sound detection in the background (and with a few seconds back-buffer! )
