Audio Recorder

new to ubuntu having install issue

I am new to Ubuntu and I have the file and have extracted it but unsure what to do at this point. I dont see an application file.
 Please help.

I recommend that you use the instructions in https://launchpad.net/~audio-recorder/+archive/ubuntu/ppa to add the ppa to your list of repository sources and to install the already-packaged version of audio-recorder.
